    • hello,
      new to rocketheme, I tried to install the modulus bundle with the joomla installer. I got this message: "unable to find an installation pack". So what's the suggested installation method for bundles ?
      thanks for help

    • You want to use the rt_modulus_j15-rocketlauncher.zip file if you want to install Joomla, the Modulus template and the demo content (don't have to install the demo content, but highly recommended for someone new to joomla).

      From the Modulus demo site - Tutorials/ Installation menu item:
      Step 1 - Upload

      * Download the RocketLauncher (rt_modulus_j15-rocketlauncher.zip)
      * Unzip to reveal the rt_modulus_j15-rocketlauncher folder
      * Upload

      Note: You can upload all the files via FTP, or use cPanel or SSH to upload the zip and unzip directly onto the server. Enquire with your hosting provider.
      Step 2 - Installation

      * Go to www.yoursite.com/rt_modulus_j15-rocketlauncher
      * Follow the Installation instructions
      * Ensure you click Install Sample Data during installation
      * Delete the /installation directory on your server

      Ensure you click Install Sample Data during installation, otherwise your site will be blank.

      Fyi, the Modulus Bundle is just the template and Gantry framework, this does NOT include Joomla and the sample data - the rocketlauncher file does include all of the above.

      Cheers

    • thanks for the answer. 2 things:
      -I'm not a joomla newbie, my site is on for many years now but time has come to change the template
      -I just wanted to install a bundle that is said to be a gantry + a template pack.
      -I do not want to install the rocket launcher
      So my question was: how to use this bundle as the joomla installer says that the installation is impossible.
      If there is no answer, I 'll use the step by step method. The framework then the template, downloaded separately.
      Thanks
      best regards

    • I believe that you have to extract the bundle .zip and then install.

    • hi,
      this issue comes up when the installation is performed on the localhost. On the online site it's ok.
      Don't know why.
      I keep checking this.
      best regards

    • You'll find the same is true for all Joomla extensions, many commercial extensions are entitled something like, name_unzip_first.zip so that people who are new to Joomla know that the file includes more than one zipped file. Maybe something RT could implement, perhaps call it bundle_unzip_first, I guess it's just getting to know the RT phraseology.

      The RocketLauncher should never be used unless the sample data is installed. The whole point of the RocketLauncher is to give users a way to get up and running quickly by replicating the demo. All of this is accomplished with the use of the database information in the sample data sql.

      Without installing sample data, the RocketLauncher is not only the same as a default joomla install with no sample data, but it will actually be badly broken as the launcher contains all of the files and directories for the extensions used in the demo, but none of the database information will be present.

      This means that if a user installs the RocketLauncher, but does not install the sample data, most of the extensions will not work as they wont be detected by joomla, and attempting to install them will cause errors and fail because while Joomla doesn't see them, the directories and files are there.

      Basically, there is nothing to gain by using the RocketLauncher without the sample data, and it will cause a whole lot of issues down the road.

      the bundle (rt_modulus_j15-bundle.zip) should not be extracted before installing. :)
