Remove excess white space btwn modules

  • Remove excess white space btwn modules

    Posted 13 years 9 months ago
    • I'm using Nebulae and want to eliminate all the extra space / padding btwn modules. Is there some easy way to fix this so that I can put an image in a module and have it completely flush? I searched through all the discussions on this board and only found a few people with this problem and couldn't find an adequate answer.

      Also, I have the same problem with the other templates I'm using.

      Thanks!

    • This is an ongoing issue with all Gantry templates, and I can't find any central source of information about how to remove padding and apply true flush to module positions. Is it possible for someone on the RT team to pin a post explaining the flush/padding issues at the top of this forum or another? As important as this issue is, it would be really valuable to have a single tutorial available on this topic.

    • there is a way but I would need a link with a no so much modified css.
      Looks quite broken in that link.
      The key is the right use of negative margins on certain structural gantry elements ...

    • So for a clean Tachyon add this to your template.css and clear your cache:

      div[class*='grid'] > div {margin: -5px !important;}

      it will reduce the gutter

      Yes, this is what we are looking for (I am not alone in struggling with this). We have too many "fingers in the pie", so we've tried the "flush" suffix, the gantry.css, the template.css, etc. Please take a look again at the result at saugatest.com after applying the gantry code you suggested. It helps some things but the menu and other stuff gets out of whack.

      If we restore the various css files to original condition, exactly what would we change in the gantry elements to achieve the objective of minimal yet consistent white space between all modules?

    • That example you have is really too messed as it would make any sense to work on that.

      If you show me a clean site I can give you the css that is needed.
      It's really just about the direct child sof the grid elements.

    • OK, I'd like to give you a "clean site", but what does that mean? If I unpublish all the modules except one, plus the menu, would that be clean enough? Or just another test site somewhere? It would be best if we cleaned up this site so it's more realistic. What should we clean up to make it worthy?
