    • Just wish controls would show up with a flash embed. Know if this is possible some how?

    • I think that is because the flash is supposed to have it's own controls embedded within it perhaps?

    • .fla files are raw flash files... usually you can upload those files to places - and you'll get default controls.

    • I was able to use the default editor to point to a video file that I had uploaded and fix the proportions appropriately, but now I'm prompted for a network id and password in order to view the file. Any ideas? I'm guessing that the location where the video is stored has rights on it that are preventing me from allowing the video to be shown. How can I get around that without creating a big vulnerability?

    • I think I have this one figured out. I'm only getting prompted for the network passwords when I'm accessing the site from my job site. At home and elsewhere, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

      Hang on you mean .flv??? .fla is the Flash source file that is then compiled into a .swf. .flv are flash video files. They don't actually "come" with any controls. For that you would need a flash video player which is just another flash widget (in .swf format) that allows you to specify and play the .flv. Search the net for "flash video player"... I think there are some Joomla extensions that do this as well. Check the XE Media stuff out.
