    side menu on one page?

Posted 13 years 9 months ago
    • Is it possible to have a side menu on only one page in a rockettheme template? I want to have 4 links appear on a certain page and once clicked it will display the info to the right of those links. I want it to leave the links there and each time the user clicks the right page reloads but the links remain. Is that possible?

      thanks

Hard to describe... here is a link to a website that has what I am talking about... http://calallergy.com/clinic.html - Please note I have nothing to do with that website just using it as an example for the left frame with links and those links load in the frame to the right of it.

    • Hi there,

The templates can have as many individual sidebar menus as you need. They are all assignable too, so you could a different one on each page if you needed to.

I have a client test site where we do just that - gbs.togetherwebdesign.ie - when you use the top menu some of the pages have an extra menu on the left.

      Hope this helps 8)

I have kept playing with it and not figured it out. Are you able to point me to some documentation on what to do?

    • Hi there,

To make a side menu just create a new menu, add the items you need, and in the module manager just set that menu module to appear in a sidebar position. It may be slightly different in Joomla 1.7 depending on where you want the menu to appear.

Most of the documentation about how modules work and are positioned is available on the Joomla site - www.joomla.org

If you need more help then please let me know.
