    Jsite fatal error

Posted 13 years 9 months ago
    • Hi guys
      everything was working sweetly
now i'm getting Fatal error: Class 'JSite' not found in .............../libraries/joomla/application/application.php on line 141

HOWEVER, since everything last worked great i have not installed any new plugins, changed any code done anything

all i did was the following....

on my rokstories on front page.... the auto generated thumbs were a bit crappy (had a wide pic and when made into a square thumb didnt look good)

so i made my own thumb, overwriting the original file with the same filename

since then whole site went down
Fatal error: Class 'JSite' not found in /hsphere/local/home/golfinfr/ollygoldstein.com/libraries/joomla/application/application.php on line 141

      thought maybe dodgy ftp upload
so tried uploading the thumbs again same issue

tried even cleaning them out all together so new autogenerated ones were made
      same issue

The only other thing that happened

was when i was deleting the original thumbs (via the media manager in joomla)
i deleted one.....and it was going a bit slow, so hit delete again....
everything seemed fine when i did that though

I can still go in back admin area

      Any ideas?
      thanks a load
      Olly

    • Ok Update
see a couple of other errors
      maybe connected maybe not
      in admin area
      media manager
i see this when i go in (even though i see the media manager in all its glory this is above the images...this error..about ten times

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in ..........administrator/templates/rt_missioncontrol_j15/lib/rtcore.class.php on line 389

And under the repeated errors before images i see this
Could not load module JButtons ().
Could not load module JButtona ().
Could not load module JButtonc ().

    • 24 hours later still stuck with this error.... tried so many things
Am positive its not a conflict or something with a plugin or component as everything was working great...and only differences made between working state and current state of front-end site down (fatal error) was a new article made, and the aforementioned changes to images.
I have cleaned the cache but that's not helped

Would LOVE SOME help....have done nothing with the site today at all acheived nothing simply as have no idea whats causing this

Only relevant post regarding Class 'JSite' not found in line 141 of application.php some guy who fixed it for some other guy....but said had no idea how....great help!!

Virtual massive handshake and warm thanks and a hug to whoever fixes this!

    • Next small pointer
If i disable the mission control admin template and go back to default

The errors with the media manager mentioned above stop.

      The front-end is still down

Dont know why those errors appear with mission control on the back-end though...but obviously seperate problem (and have used mission control on another site perfectly ok)

    • OK MY BAD

      THIS is weird!!!!!!!!!

Even though it fixed it....as soon as i load one page....boom...the includes/application.php file that works (fresh from a new joomla download of 1.5.23) which is 8kb
gets overwritten with a different one, thats only 6kb
That kills the site with the fatal error

To make my site come back...i delete the application.php file...upload again the fresh 8kb one...boom site works again.... until i load a single page (any page)

Then it gets overwritten again!!!! It's also making another file.... application.php.orig everytime this happens

      Why's it doing this?>
      what is application.php?
what's creating this and wheres it getting the 6kb one from?
the includes folder has 644 chmod permissions also...... sooooo strange!!!

    • OK FINAL UPDATE
Fixed this altogether now (I hope)

Keeping these posts up to date in case someone else hits this issue

basically....i found the original file in administrator/includes
so i overwrote that with the fresh one

now the fresh one is staying in the includes folder and administrator/includes folder and alls working

      WEIRD HUh???
