WYSIWYG editor not working

Hi, I just installed joomla and went to add content. I clicked on the image icon to link an image and it was a blank popup with this title:
{$lang_insert_image_title}
Now I know that the fix is to go into the configuration.php file and change the following line:
BROKEN LINKS REMOVED
That always has solved the problem until now. When I make that change my site is gone and I can't log into the admin for joomla anymore. When I go back in and change it back to the original line the site comes back and I can log in just fine.
I searched the joomla forums and I have not found an answer (I see others are having this problem also). Any ideas on how to get my editor to work? - Last Edit: 8 years 4 months ago by Kat05.

- Hi,Try clearing the cache if it is enabled, otherwise if you are using any form of seo turn it off add the www and then turn your seo htaccess back on. This usually does the trick. If you are using joomla1.08 there are issues with the default tinymce, i suggest that you install the excellent jce editor. hth
