    SOLVED - Hybrid Template with JomSocial?

    • There are actually two questions here:

      First of all, is the Hybrid Template (my preferred template) compatible with JomSocial? Where would I find that information (so I don't have to ask about every template I'm interested in)? I don't see it specified anywhere.

      Second, I've already installed Joomla! 1.7 and JomSocial on my site: www.gamermancy.com/

      As you can see, it's just the demo. But I installed everything before I discovered this site and the templates.

      I see that Rocket Launcher is the recommended method of installing the template. I can certainly follow the directions for installing via rocket launcher, but what do I do about the existing installation of Joomla! and JomSocial? Do I have to delete then and reinstall?

      I'm new to setting up websites and to Joomla!, so give it to me in baby steps.

    • Hi, while there is no specific features for JomSocial in the Hybrid template it should work just fine, you may need to do additional styling in JomSocial to get it to match the template.

      As of now, there is no 1.7 Rocket Launcher for Hybrid, so your best bet is to just install the template into your existing installation. If you need to see how the demo content is set up, installing a copy of the Rocket Launcher elsewhere will let you see the settings ECT. Hope that helps.

    • Thanks, that does help. Is it feasible to install via the 1.5 rocket launcher, then upgrade the joomla install to 1.7?

    • You can give it a shot, might be more trouble than it's worth. You're looking at several hours most likely. It depends on how comfortable you are with that process and what benefits it will have, how much time it will save you in putting the site together, if any. It will take you some time if you go that route.
