Gantry generating weird css-php fields on the fly...huh?

Posted 13 years 8 months ago
    • On one of our sites, RT/Gantry is generating strange php files in real-time that look like this: css-0bb14062542dcbf62e5d2cf359bad73e.php

They are found in Libraries/Gantry/CSS and also in Templates/RT-XXX/CSS. If we delete them, they magically re-appear. They are messing with our CSS and with Firebug, since they over-ride the normal CSS settings. What is creating these and why? Help!

      Anyone with an explanation?

    • My guess is you have either the Gantry cache or RokGZipper turned on. They create temporary files to speed up the loading time of your site. Hope that helps.
    • The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

    • This is good information to know. We just signed up with CodeGuard and received our first e-mails last night regarding several of these temporary css-*.php files.

In addition to the locations assur3 identified, we also have them here:

    • If you are concerned, you need to turn off all cache, compression, RokGzipper ECT. There are 3 plugins / settings that create these files. Turn off the Gantry Cache and GantryGZipper in the advanced section of the template settings, and make sure you have RokGZipper disabled in the plug in manager.

These just help your site load faster, but it should all be disabled while you're working on the site.

    • I wasn't concerned about it after learning about it. Thanks for the heads up. I just need to exclude CodeGuard from checking those folders so I don't get notified when the files change...which they will. :D
