  • Why PNG and not JPG?

    • I'm interested to know why so many of these themes focus on PNG image files instead of JPG? Aren't PNG files much heavier and cause slower loading?

    • jpg is best for images.
      png is best for graphics.
      png 32 also has real alpha tranparency.
      png 8 gives better results than gif for example.

      jpg compression does always change the picture and adds artefacts to it.
      So the image looses quality.
