    Step-By-Step

Posted 13 years 7 months ago
    • Hi All,

I'm new to Rocket THemes, but am loving the demo sites and templates, that I purchased a 90 day membership, considering upgrade to 12 months.

Is there Step-by-Step tutorial instructions, on how to configure each template to look like the demo version?

I own a web business, and the reason I purchased was because the Demos all looked amazing... Now, how do I get my template (I have all themese for Wordpress) to look like that?

      Any ideas, greatly appreciated.
      Many thanks.

    • Hi,

There isn't a step by step tutorial guide on how to achieve the demo look sorry, as we provide a rocketlauncher package which has the template demo already installed.

The best way would be to install the rocketlauncher on your localhost or a seperate url, and then go through the wordpress installation to see what settings were used and widget assignments to achieve the demo look.

    • OK, thanks for the reply.

Presummably this needs to happen on a clean installation, because I tried just installing the theme package (.zip) on a self-hosted WP installation, and in many cases depending on what theme -

It returns a error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes)

I have many themes (with RT, and without out) in my WP Admin - so an easy way would be to install RT theme, Granty framework, plug-ins etc. without doing a clean-installation...

How do I get past the error messages?

    • Hi there,

Rocket Launchers need a clean install as they include the Wordpress element as well.

All you need is hosting space and a clean database with a user and password then you are ready to go.

Please be aware that RocketLaunchers will only contain blank holding images due to copyright issues.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hello,

Thank you very much for the reply.

Yes, I have tried that a clean installation on a self-hosted site... with Rocket Launcher.

Everything loads correctly - installs fine, then upon changing a theme to something else - I receive error messages or warnings. Not sure why that is happening???

Also, when I try to save any setting in the Granty framework with 1 theme; the changes do not get saved; even after I push "save button".

      Please help - any ideas?

Is there a problem on the server? I have all the required settings, php, etc. but wondered about the "mod_" function? Please tell if that is necessary, and what those mod_ features do on the server.

      Thank you, await your reply.

Really want RT to work, I own a web business.

    • Are you still getting this message?

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) "

If so, you can "up" the memory limit in php.ini

      64M or 128 M should be enough :)

    • Thank you for the replies...

I will start again on a fresh clean installation and try again.

I am still having trouble though, in particular when I change themes. Is this normal?

Does Rocket Themes provide refunds? I don't think so, but I will keep trying...

    • Yes, I would think so... Then why do I have problems?

I have ensured my server / hosting provider has all the requirements..

Please tell me what the "mod_" settings do... Do I need these enabled?

Safe mode is already turned on = on my server.

As owner of a web business, this is the only thing I can think of to stop RT from working correctly. Please advise of any other issues/problems that others have (might) have faced.

Things are NOT working as they should; and I really want to try and make it work.

      Any other help greatly appreciated.

    • Hyst for your information, Safe mode should be turned OFF.

Also make sure that you have enabled PHP5 so it's not running PHP4 for some odd reason.
