Mercado - Alternative to using Ecwid

- I'm using the Mercado wordpress theme and am wondering if it is possible to use another wordpress e-commerce plugin instead of ecwid. Ecwid is fine but the free version is limited to 100 products and I was hoping to add more than this. I was considering wp e-commerce plugin but didn't know if that would work. Thank you!

Just pay to support ECWID?
Surely if you have over 100 products you can pay the $17 fee?
Hell i only have 14 products and im a paid member
Just like RocketTheme, if you like the quality of the product then support the developers!
I have used loads of shops before and non of them have been as easy to use and install as ECwid so i can justify the cost

- i too don't want to use ecwid. i want totally hosted on our servers and not paying monthly fee. don't mind paying for shopping cart but don't want monthly where it is hosted elsewhere for the cart as we sell hosting too

- i'm not using this shopping cart and this template for hosting. it is for a customer. i just don't want to pay monthly to host shopping elsewhere so want to use e commerce that we have on server at customer site. so can this template work with other e commerce? if so which ones?
