    • Greetings all, i have not been able to find a similar post to this issue if there is one in existence please let me know but...
recently i have been forced to do the Dedicated server bit and now i am almost all good and up and running but some of the templates just plain dont show or i have to use a beez template to get to another page in the launcher than set the desired rockettheme as default and it shows up...
in other words they don't show up on the home 95% of the time...and thus far about 6 templates just plain dont show...

Please let me know if you have any light on this issue...
      the server is
      centOS 5.2
2 gb of ram and 600 gb hd

the templates that do not show at all so far are
      momentum
      radiance
Ones that don't show on homepage are:
      enigma
      omnicron
      entropy and a few more...

thinking i need to do a different method than the rocketlaunchers NOt that great with joomla please help, any advice is gold...MUCH MUCh in need, if you can help i can give you some free server space for a year, to get this going... so that it would be worth your time...its REALLY FAST thats a sweet deal.

Hope that helps, and thank you for your help in advancedd

I explain : i had a similar issue when i uploaded my different template with winscp .
i was logged in root and then i forgot to chown the file i uploaded !

try to see the owner right of your files ! then chown them

    • Greetings, so okay thanks for the ideas,
to let you know i know very very little about a new server and the SSH commands to access the root, i had a friend do some work on the server who does that sort of thing all the time but that being said, if the
Chown bit is a SSH could you please help me out with some commands to find out the owner of the files and than to do the chowning... or something

I am also using just a basic ftp uploader... filezilla

hope that helps and again very appreciative of the help.

    • o well . I should say if you use a ftpclient to upload your file , il presume that you have created an account with your web space . I hope you don't use the root login and pass .
For example my root logins are only to connect to ssh as root . i have created a user with the right only to acces to myaccount/www . with that log i can't see before /myaccount .

when you are login as root (ssh mode) go to your www directory . For me its : /home/myaccountname/www
just type when prompt is / : cd /home/yourdirectory/www then go to your joomla site and template folder like this : /joomla/templates
then just type : ls -l you will see your templates directory and their right Group and owners .

then if a directory goes wrong , just type chown -R with the correct owners:group like this :
      example : chown -R moignon:users rt-zephyr .

Hope its clear for you , i explain correctly

    • OKay i am going to try this but is there any other way to do this other than going through SSH? and how do i test to confirm it has worked, would the template that went blank before just show up... OR do i have to reinstall them and what not?

    • So in case you see this post and wonder about the success... I am going to try the SSH ownership looking tomarrow with a helper who knows that like the back of hand...
but i was thinking the issue arose when i tried to import a database from old server, which messed up the momentum template...
So i am going to try a new idea with respect to getting sites over from old host... and just taking all contents of old, Databases, and joomla contents and just tweaking the config file...

However the strange thing is some templates just plain don't work... so do you think it might not necessarily be an ownership issue... but moreso a mess up in the ftp aspect?...
For example, i tried loading up the template as just an added template in a joomla install and still no good...THAN i tried installing the rocket launcher for momentum, radiance, and a few others and most worked just fine but consistantly the momentum, radiance and One more i cannot remember, did not show up...
So hey let me know if you have any added thoughts on that
