    • I am looking to upgrade from 1.5 to 1.7 but I have heard 1.8 is coming out next year. Dont know if I am going to upgrade to 1.8 or move on to Drupal or Wordpress.

      I don't know about Drupal or Wordpress but the 1.6 release was a fiasco as every version 1.6.x upgrade seemed to break something else in our templates.
      Things settled down somewhat with v1.7 but even that v1.7.3 changed the way it showed Published Dates so that has to be recoded now.
      If there isn't a huge increase in benefits to the developer-user paradigm in moving to 1.8, I'd stick to 1.7

    • Hell I might stick with 1.5 if there isn't a huge benefit to moving to 1.8 I know 1.8 is the long term version much like 1.5 was but I am not about to spend 50 hours on converting our system if there are no real benefits.

      Yeah, on new sites I'll start using 1.7 (much nicer admin interface ) but for existing 1.5 sites the conversion process could get onerous.
