Please recommend fast, basic template

Some time ago, I was having sever load-time problems with a site and switched my template to
rt_mediamogul_essentials_j15 which was basic and fast.
Now, though, it's pretty outdated.
Can you recommend a fairly basic template that 1.5 and 1.7 compatible and really streamlined for speed?

the default gantry framework template:
demo.gantry-framework.org
is pretty darn fast. You can download it here:
www.gantry-framework.org/download
of course this is the starter template we build our RT templates from, so it's definitely 'basic' but a you can create anything from it.
