    Andy we need you!

    • A long time ago the issue of Jomsocial and other 3rd party styled templates came up and a Poll was started by you. This was great because we felt like this issue was important and that you guys were going to come up with a solid solution.

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...14185&rb_v=viewtopic

Now months later the issue has still not been resolved.

Since JomSocial updated to 2.2.4 NONE of the JomSocial templates work with the current version or any version of JomSocial since 2.2.3.

As pointed out in a post by one of your staff:
      JomSocial Update Calendar:
      Version 2.4.1 21st November 2011
      Version 2.4.0 8th November 2011
      Version 2.2.5 31st October 2011
      Version 2.2.4 1st August 2011
      Version 2.2.3 4th July 2011

I know others have this issue and currently RT is selling memberships to templates that do not work as advertised with the latest version of JomSocial. Surely you guys realize that its not always the new templates that bring in your new memberships, sometimes its the older ones that people select like Zephyr and Tachyon.

Many posts have been made regarding this but the responses make those of us that use these 3rd party plugins feel like a red headed step child. Were either ignored or told some excuse on why its not done.

I have asked several times for a simple update on WHEN they would be fixed because, i have clients LITERALLY SCREAMING AT ME for the new version of JomSocial. If i could tell them a timeline they might relax a little. But me saying " i have no idea when you will get your upgrade" is not acceptable to a Government Agency.

I have explained to the RT staff in my posts that its been over 4 months since an update was made to Zephyr (and most likely the others too) and i am told that because im of a group of only 1% of your business i dont deserve the attention the other 99% get. Sorry but im a customer also whether i am of only 1% of them or not...im still a customer!

In any case 4 months is a long time for no update, i think others would agree.

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=39...48835&rb_v=viewtopic

Now, I am about to completely scrap Zephyr all together and go to another template maker to solve my problem. Before doing so, i thought i would try 1 more time as a last ditch effort to get a response from RT that does not simply make excuses on why they arent fixed but perhaps a timeline, date of expected release...something other than sorry its not compatible.

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=39...46921&rb_v=viewtopic

For the record, I would have dropped this template like a hot potatoe months ago but i have a particular love for RT themes. That being said, i can only delay this for so long, and now im being forced into taking some sort of action because i cannot delay my other upgrades any longer.

Please try not view this post as merely complaint (ive already done my share of complaining about this) or a slam on RT, but a plea for help!

    • We're on it guys.. just so much to do and this time of year is tougher than ever with all the holidays and such. I know that's a lame excuse, but trust me, James is working on it this week.

The main problem is that JS basically breaks any 3rd party templates with each and every release. I'm going to talk with the JS team to work out how we can better manage this situation long term.

      Thanks Andy!

Hearing that its in the works this week is good for me. I can now tell my client a estimated time frame at least and they will hopefully quiet down a bit.

      Appreciate the feedback!

    • Yes, because I'm tired of having great sites with pos templates in JS. It would be nice if RocketTheme would just create a Basic Template package for JS that can be used with any RT and easier to update when JS updates.

But I'm in dier-need of a better looking JS template

    • if you have a problem with a rt-template that is supposed to support JomSocial please post a complete support request.

      Including ...
      - a description of the issue
      - JS version
      - Joomla version
      - template
      - template version
      - gantry version
      - browser affected
      - OS
      - screenshot
      - link (if possible)

until now the devs only found minor things (repeating backgrounds etc.)
We have quite a few posts saying "it does no work". But nobody says what exactly is not working ...

    • I am no expert at Jom Social, more playing around and learning it and Joomla 1.7 but I recently installed JS 2.4 on the Visage 1.7 template and had no trouble getting it running.
Now months later the issue has still not been resolved.

Since JomSocial updated to 2.2.4 NONE of the JomSocial templates work with the current version or any version of JomSocial since 2.2.3.

There may be older templates that are not configured to work but Visage seems fine, no fancy features, just the base install with a few CSS tweaks to match the Visage color and style.

Any tools to make the process easier and to enable additional modules in JomSocial would be very welcome.

I really have no issues because it's mainly quick CSS tweaks that fix my problems with jomsocial templates. I just love RT joomla templates and would love to see that kind of effort put towards a stand alone Jomsocial Template.
