Problem installing templates

I am new to using Joomla 1.7, and trying to install a rocket theme template Panacea. The template will install, but when trying to view the site, none of the demo assets are loading. This is making it hard for me to edit anything, as I can't see what I am changing.
When I installed the template, I could only install the standalone, version, as the bundle gives me an error during installation. Basically, what we are trying to do is get the Panacea rocket theme to fully install including all demo assets. Can anyone help?

Hi there,
Panacea does not yet have a RocketLauncher for Joomla 1.7
My advice is to install the RocketLauncher for 1.5 into a sub-directory or sub-domain as the actual code and extension settings can been seen easily.
Then on the 1.7 install you will need to add Gantry, and the extensions for the template as listed on the download bundle - Joomla 1.7.x Extensions for Panacea: Gantry Framework, RokCandy, RokNavMenu, RokAjaxSearch, RokTabs, RokStories, RokGantryCache, RokModule, RokGZipper, RokPad, and RokBox.
Now you are set to replicate content or start with your own content.

- Hi, you'll need to install the Rocket Launcher to have the demo content. Unfortunately, there is not a 1.7 version of the Rocket Launcher for this template available at this time.
- The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

I'm not sure I understand installing 1.5 Rocket Launcher into a different directory David. Are you saying it is possible for me to use the old 1.5 Launcher with 1.7 somehow?
Would it be possible, or worth it to downgrade to Joomla 1.5 so I can just use the rocket Launcher?

Hi there,
You cannot use 1.5 RocketLauncher with 1.7 site.
I am suggesting a separate installation so you can go to the admin of 1.5 and see how things were set and the code for articles etc. This becomes a reference point so you can see what you need to do to get your 1.7 site looking like the demo.
It will make it easier when working on your 1.7 site.
