How to enable users to create new articles (help)

  • How to enable users to create new articles (help)

    • I’m trying to understand how to configure a system where users (only registered ones) can create new articles. The new articles need to be approved by the staff before being published.

Note: I’d like to use the K2 extension to create and manage the articles. K2 has many useful features, like for example the ability to associate additional information to an article (articles are called items in K2). In my case the additional information are things like the year of the trip and the travel means (airplane, car, train…).
By the way, I tried to create a menu choice to allow users to create a new item, but it returns an error (403 - You are not authorized to view this resource.) Does anybody have a hint about why this happens?

      Address of the site: http://artedelviaggio.com/
Menu to create a new item: “Viaggi / Inserisci il tuo articolo”

This is my first Joomla site, I’m looking for generic help and suggestions on how to proceed.
      Thanks

    • K2 has all these features.
In the k2 user groups section... you can set your registered users to be able to add items, just dont allow them to publish them.
Then you need to use the K2 login module on the front end so when they log in they get the option to add an article and its all done in the front end.
If you copy the link fro adding new items from the K2 login menu then you should be fine.
The 403 is probably because your goign to the wrong link OR you havent given the user authorisation in the K2 user groups and made sure the use is part of that group.
