what hosting plan does RocketTheme use?

I have another hosting plan, but I wouldn't use it for this site, although I have joomla loaded on it, it is lighting fast, but even if I did use it - we just came up with the idea and bought the domains - so, have to wait for the 30 day period for transfering.
What sucks is this hosting use to be great. I have over 35 sites (Some are just minor - like I got one set up for *mail or splat mail is what I call it - when ever someone needs me to fill out a email - I make one up on the spot ending in @"mysite".com and all the mail goes to one mail box) I will have to transfer...but first I need to find a site that Joomla works with Perfectly. Plus, I want the commision to go towards the Joomla.org Team. But that is another project I am working on...if I can get the site up!!!!! :-\ >

pings just fail, and a traceroute dies around the 16th hop from pingdom. definitely a host issue. you don't need more powerful servers, you just need a host who can configure your server and their end of the line correctly. even a $3/mnth host would be better than your current setup.
i recommend going with rochen, a representative of who has posted on this thread (xyzuly), or servint if you're after a vps. - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

I can hand deliver flyer's faster around the world to customers than hosting can deliver my web pages...
Also, I have Pingdom before just out of pure amusement...to see how fast other peoples sites are to mine...

a vps (virtual private server) is halfway between typical shared hosting and a dedicated server. in effect, a physical server is artificially divided into a few virtual servers ... bah! wikipedia can explain it better than i ever could:

care must be taken when choosing a vps host because some hosts can stick heaps of users onto a server with the effect that the vps becomes even slower than typical shared hosting. these unscrupulous hosts have contributed to vps getting 'a bad reputation' - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

I want to thank everyone for their replies here...and let you on a little secret. We, my partner and I, have been working with Joomla for about a year now...we are newbies. We have set up multiple sites only to be frustrated to no end. Hack this, make this work, blah, blah, blah...we were under the impression that one day we would reach that learning curve and it would be easy to work with Joomla and make a site that works.
Our inexperience has shined as bright as the sun on hot summer day in the Mojave desert. To think after a year of frustration, that all we had to was find a hosting plan, that didn't just say it was Joomla friendly, but one that actually works with Joomla.
Talk about a "slap me with a two by four" moment. We have 4 different hostings - now we have a fifth (as of this weekend, as recommended by you guys on this board). And I am here to tell you that all hosting is not the same.
I didn't know that Joomla could be that fast, could actually work without hacking or "fake the funk" and that the 3rd party extensions could work plugged straight in with out code popping up all over the site saying "WARNING". I swear that is so, so, so important to know. It should be on the front cover of Joomla - these are the hosting sites that meet the requirements for Joomla - so, it can work, then break them down in a listing and let the consumers rate them and comment, our add a new one like they do extensions.
I went in and retested, this weekend on the new hosting, an assortment of extensions and functions for Joomla that I wanted to work (ones I had abandoned after countless hours, days, months and dollars working on), and they worked right from the get go. No having to do nothing, but turn them on. Talk about mind blowing, felt surreal.
Joomla = "Code Monkeys only" was what we were beginning to think. Although, my partner and I are not code monkeys (nothing wrong with being a code monkey - you should see the video youtube.com/watch?v=2lLRBiEBRAc ), we thought this has got to work, because look at all the sites that are working.
All this kookiness, just over trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole.
We actually got the entire site up and working this weekend too. You can still get to it through KaraokeDance.com, but it is hosted under Karadansu.net, - we will be transferring all the pointer domains at it to another hosting company. Karaokedansu.com, Karadansu.com (.org) and whatever else we have. I am going to post it in the show off your site - because we need feed back.
My gosh, the backend works so fast too - it used to be slower than myspace.com on peak hours and believe me that is slow.
Now, all we have to do is transfer 34 Joomla sites to a new hosting environment that works. Oh, well, ain't life a "you fill in the blank"
