Problem with latest Gantry upgrade and J2.5 upgrade.

Posted 13 years 3 months ago
    • In my site backend I checked for Extension Manager updates today and updated to Gantry 3.2.14 Library/Component/Plugin and Joomla to 2.5.0 Stable.

When I checked my site articles I noticed that the page navigation (Next, Previous links) at the bottom of each article page are not displaying. They are still set to display in my Article Manager options and they were working fine until these extension manager updates. So it must be either a bug in Gantry or Joomla.

Here is a sample page with the problem:
Does anyone have any advice on how to correct this?

      Thank you.

    • hi again,

can you quickly check if the navigation shows up fine with the core joomla template?

      thanks, kat :)

      Hi Kat,

Yes, you are correct about that test. I tested the core Joomla templates as the site default, (instead of the RT Reflex template), and the < Previous - Next > navigation links at the base of the articles did display in the core Joomla templates. So I guess that means it's a RocketTheme Reflex template or a Gantry bug.

Also, can you confirm if the RT developers are aware of the bugs in the RT breadcrumbs module that I mentioned in my last two posts of this thread:
      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=51..._v=viewtopic#p761549
The breadcrumbs module bug is a minor issue but maybe it's something they can fix with the next updates.

      Thanks Kat!

    • Kat,

I disabled all cache and compression on my site as follows. Then I cleared the cache and purged the cache. Then I opened the site in a new browser. But the problem still occurred with the < Previous - Next > navigation links not showing at the bottom of articles.

Global Config > System > Cache is "OFF - Caching disabled"
Global Config > Server > Gzip Page Compression is "No"
Template Manager > Reflex > Edit Style > Advanced > Gantry Cache is "OFF"
Template Manager > Reflex > Edit Style > Advanced > Gantry GZipper is "OFF"

After the test I turned on/enabled the Gzip Page Compression and the Gantry Cache since they were enabled on my site before this test.

Let me know if you need more details. Thanks!

    • Kat,

Okay, I turned them all off again and I'll leave them off until I hear back from you.

I thought you just wanted me to test it out and see if it fixed the problem.

Let me know if you need any other changes.

    • Kat,

If you need Super User access let me know. I have a duplicate site that I can give you backend access to if you think this will make it easier to fix the bug.

    • Rub,

Yes, I have the Gantry 3.2.15 version installed on my site. I think this was the version that was released shortly after the prior Gantry update. When I saw the extension update notice in my control panel (with J2.5 update) I updated to Gantry 3.2.15 hoping it would fix this navigation links issue. Unfortunately, it didn't fix it.

      Thanks.
