    Joomla and SMF on this site

    Posted 18 years 2 weeks ago
    • Hi,

      Andy, this site is using some sort of integration of Joomla and SMF. Is it the Simplemachines.org Bridge 1.1.3? If yes, what kind of problems are you experiencing?

    • Actually that bridge did not work for me. Well it 'kinda' worked. It didn't create accounts automatically in SMF when a new account was created 'manually' in Joomla. I am actually usin gthe Joomla Bridge from JoomlaHacks.

    • Any problems you are experiencing with that Joomla Bridge? I read it is not a bridge only but it modifies the core files. Is that true?

    • Andy, you've been very generous with helping us integrate SMF the way that you guys have done with RocketTheme. Thanks for your advice. I have tried to use the CB logion form module with the JoomlaHacks plugin for CB, but the module gives me an error (trying to integrate SMF). Without it, SMF works fine, but I would like the profile image to appear on the frontpage when someone logs in.

      Questions:

      1. Do you use CB on the RocketTheme site?

      2. If not, then how do you get the login/profile image (from the SMF profile image) on the frontpage to show an image?

      3. What version of Joomla do you folks use on the RocketTheme site?

      Thank man! I hope this isn't to much trouble for you.

    • I don't use CB at all. The login module is pretty much the same one as you get from joomlahacks, I just added a few custom things I wanted like expiration date etc. It already has support for showing the SMF avatar image. Regarding Joomla, i'm running 1.0.8 with SMF 1.1 RC2

    • Which login module are you referring to at JoomlaHacks - and that for the lightening response.

      Thanks, Andy.

    • Well, everything is working great - but looking great is another story.

      At Home, everything is good.

      When I click the button to the SMF Forum, on that page, I get about a 1/4 inch of space that pushes the template (InetGazette) down and 'breaks' the shield graphic. It's a marked shift of the template 1/4 inch down with the red background page showing. Really tears up the logo.

      UPDATE: Problem solved. The default theme was needing updated files.

      Thanks much

    • Hi,

      Andy, per your advice, I have installed the Joomla-SMF from Joomlahacks and think it is more stable.
      I also installed a left-blocked Internet Gazette -the same index file from iJoomla- and till now, it runs fine. Except one problem: When Forum is viewed, the footer appears at the right bottom corner and messes up the whole view.

      You can see it for yourself at

      What can I do to fix this?

      This is my theme index.php file:
      <?php

      // needed to seperate the ISO number from the language file constant _ISO
      $iso = split( '=', _ISO );
      // xml prolog - quirks mode
      //echo '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="'. $iso[1] .'"?' .'>';
      ?>
