I hear you, but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it, just my take on what's happening with our development priorities.
Anyone who has any experience with Virtuemart knows that finding answers is a frustrating process, I haven't seen any difference in that. My current experience is working on a site that is using the 2.1 beta, after the initial 2.0 wouldn't work with Joomla 2.5 at first, now we're stuck in development hell as no extension out there will work with the 2.1 beta, and knowing what's coming with the 2.1 release makes it impractical to work with 2.0, as the majority of the work will need to be redone with the next update. Maybe VM is getting better, but right now it's a mess. Until they get their format changing done and a stable release out, there will be a lot of frustrated users and developers.

I hear that also. I really wish it wasn't such a pain in the butt, it's the most popular eCommerce component for Joomla, and it works well once you get it under control. But like most free products, you have to take what they give you to work with. The new versions are better, I hope they can get the 2.1 release out so we can all move forward. I think a lot of devs are waiting on that.

I was thinking about using VM2, selling "virtual products" like ebooks. The feature "shipment for virtual products" was included in core versions prior to version 2. It had been cut out and with version 2 it is now available as a commercial extension. So, my question is: Will there be more basic functions which will be cut out of the free core in next versions? For which functions will I be urged to pay in future versions? I got the impression, VM is going a way to be more and more commercial and it's unpredictable what will happen in future. I lost trust in VM and decided myself not to use it.
Honestly, I have no idea, there may be some discussion of this on the VM forums, we're not involved with developing any part of the VM core.
You have to consider that with VM and other Joomla components, free or otherwise, is that they are usually designed to accommodate the general needs of the majority and not necessarily the specific needs of individuals. Anything beyond what's offered in the core has to be purchased or programmed, and in VM you usually don't have to look too far to find some shortcomings or features that you wish were there.
There are plenty of other options, it all depends on what you need to do. If it's a simple store, there are better options. For something fully featured, VM is the cheapest solution but not necessarily the best. I personally only use VM if it's a project requirement, and I usually charge double for anything related to VM, it's a pain. .

Cliff, the questions I mentioned were not intendende to be adressed to the RocketTheme team, I adressed them to myself. Off course, they are items of VM forums.

I saw that the mynxx 2.5 template has now been released without the VM support...
Im wanting to update my current mynxx website to the new 2.5 version and the new virtuemart...
When it says that it does NOT yet contain any additional styling or extensions for VirtueMart, is there any time frame as to when that might happen, and what would be your suggestion here when using this template in its current state to build a new site?
Hi, we're waiting for VM 2.1 to do anything on the VM side, there are major changes in the way it works and we just don't have the resources to re-do our one VM theme over and over again with every upgrade they release. Mynxx is considered a legacy template at this point and won't receive as much attention as our new releases or Gantry based templates.
All it really means is that the component will use it's default styling, which may not match the theme, any VM extensions will have to come from other developers. It should still work fine, but any styling will need to be done as custom work.
