Ok... I feel certain this is a total noob question, but I did not see anything in a quick forum search. When I add a login module to my template I get the expected login fields and also the 'Remember Me' checkbox. When I add it as a component though, I don't get that. I could just create an empty page an assign the module to it of course, but I figure I am missing some configuration option somewhere. Any happen to know what obvious think I am missing?
Template is Halcyon 2.5. There is a module on the home page as well as a component menu item for comparison. valid user is guest/guest if you should need it.
I know that components use a different code base than modules do, but I have never seen them as more complicated per se. In fact, I have not even seen much documentation about creating 2.5 modules from source. Either way, if the login component is standard joomla and the module is a rok version, than that probably explains why the module is better:-) Still though, you would think the remember me check box would be pretty standard these days.
Ok, well, I will just adjust and use a module on the page then. At least I know I was not missing something obvious.
On a side note, do you happen to know if there is a guide anywhere to building your own modules for 2.5? Joomladocs certainly has a nice detailed guide for components, but I don't see anything for modules? Is it just a matter of setting the extension line in the <script>.xml file to read module instead of component? That seems way to easy.
Ok. So, this seems to be an area where joomla is not well documented. At least from the joomla docs sites. I found a 1.5 guide and it basically works except for the optional parameters. At any rate, this is pretty far off topic for this post, and I appreciate your help on the initial response.
