    • I have a client that might need a Ecommerce site and looking to see what Joomla Templates will work?

Can I use any of them as really what I'm after is just a way for clients to download FILES (.docs, .pdf, .jpgs,. stuff like this)- Not any hard goods.

If anyone has a Extension that can do this so then I can use any template that I want that would be great.

    • I recently used Ecwid in a Modulus template. I used it for online event registration & payment. It was very easy to set up configure & launch! I will be using it in future instead of Virtuemart.

      You can see it here
www.texasprokartchallenge.com - click on the Registration menu item.

It is easy to integrate into a facebook account so customers can register on Facebook also
      www.facebook.com/texaspkc

You can insert the Ecwid widgit code in any site, static html, CMS, Joomla, using any template.

I highly recommend Ecwid, it is so simple to configure the payment processing & shipping etc... compared to other shopping carts I have tried.

I haven't used it for e-goods but it can be used for that according to the Ecwid knowledge base. kb.ecwid.com/w/page/27264368/E-goods

    • Nice site..

Did you just use a stock RT template or was this an actual one designed for Ecwid?

I like the Entry form - was this simple to do in Ecwid - really impressive if this is that straight forward.. or did you do some custom coding

    • I used Modulus, it was not designed for Ecwid but it doesn't need to be. Halcyon is designed for Ecwid.

You can use any RT temp-late just be sure to install the RT Ecwid component to any template to very easily incorporate it into a RT template.

The entry form was very easy. All the custom fields are just product options, just like if you are ordering a t-shirt size, I added options to select class instead of colour, size, etc...

I love Ecwid, it is very simple to use. It is free (I think up to 100 products) I used the free version. I was highly impressed at the speed I could get the store up & running & how easy it was to configure the payment processing. They have all that figured out, you just select the payment & shipping methods you want to use & enter a few parameters & you are done. I don't use the shipping but looking at how it is set up it looks like that is just as easy to configure also.
