The template disappeared after jUpdate to version 2.5!

I updadated to v. 2.5 with jUpdate, the 1.5 version is currently running on public_html the new version is into the subfolder jupdate.
From the admin panel of the jupdate site I can not find the Meridian template from the template manager.
There is only rt_meridian_j15 in the Extension Manager: Manage list.
What happen?
I would like to install a new template like Diametric, but I'm afraid to upload it and have the same problem.

The updater only moves core database content over. Since Joomla 2.5 is a good bit different than 1.5, it doesn't recognize that there is a template there.
Unfortunately, there is no real easy update path so it is a bit like starting over. You should be able to install a new template just fine though and then you'll of course need to go in an make sure the module positions are assigned the right way and change a few other configuration items.

I supposed to find the Meridian among the templates, since Meridian is declared J!2.5 compatible.
Nor its extensions run.
This is not a big issue because I want to switch to a new template.
So, I'm going to buy the Diametric and expect that it will run properly with all its extension.
Am I correct?

You shouldn't have to buy any template, it's a subscription and you get access to all of the templates and the extensions.

But yes, the new 2.5 templates will work with the new Joomla 2.5.
