Wrong template loading

Hi,
really sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
I'm working on a site using the Panacea template. I created a splash page to be able to separate private and business customers by using a separate template for just that page. I edited this template to just contain the component in the body where I placed just one article showing the splash content.
It worked completely fine until I updated to joomla 2.5. Now Panacea is loading on the splash page as well, and I cant get rid of it! It's not dedicated to that page. And the "splash page template" seems to be working fine. I just can't get it to work! If I add "/index.php?template=<templatename> to the site url it loads the right template. Does anyone know what could be going on here?
Could it have something to do with gantry, something is loading gantry and the css from panacea?
Any help is appreciated!

For your new custom template to preview on your index page be sure to select it as the default template and assign it to your home page. You may need to also save your preset for styling.
Then for your secondary pages assign the other "Panacea" template.
