Joomla 3.0 and Bootstrap

    • Hey,

Occasionally I do some basic extensions and sometimes also the basic templates, but when I need something sophisticated, I use the RocketTheme templates.

Getting ready for the arrival of Joomla 3.0, was reading the web site ux.joomla.org , and I'm really surprised by the JUX and Bootstrap, looks very good in terms of UX and has a great potential for small developers (like me) that facilitates the creation of the interface and we can concentrate on the core application.

I think Bootstrap will influence more in the backend than in the frontend templates, but I want to ask the rockettheme team if you are planning to use the bootstrap, or you if you plan to stick to your own UX concepts. That definitely can change the way we develop websites with joomla and rockettheme.

      Thanks.

      Hugo.

    • We are planning on using elements of boostrap in our future templates, extensions and frameworks, in fact we already have done in roksprocket. However bootstrap is intended to be used as a starting point, to 'bootstrap' your design. It was never intended to be used as-is, and that's exactly how we see it. There are some great things in bootstrap that can save you time, but that's also what we do. And sometimes we like to do things a bit different.

If we all used bootstrap 100% of the time you would end up all CSS galleries that looked like this:

      bootswatch.com

And how much fun will that be!
