How to edit template elements with css-xxxxxxxxxxx.php?

In earlier Joomla versions I used to be able to identify what RocketTheme template .css file controlled a template element with Firebug,
Now in Joomla 2.6+ and RocketTheme templates, when I inspect an element with Firebug, it often says that "css-xxxxxxxxxxx.php" is the controlling file. These "css-xxxxxxxxxxx.php" files in the template/css folder are huge lists of run-in code that I don't understand.
What can I do to identify and edit the Joomla 2.6+ and RocketTheme template .css that now controls a template element?
