Editing PHP and CSS files from within Joomla

Hi - Joomla virgin here.
Is there any way of editing css and php files on the fly from within Joomla, as wordpress allows ? I had a look through the menu, but couldn't find anything.

you can only edit the template code and styles via the admin panel:
Site>Template Manager>SIte Templates
select the template you want to edit and click Edit in the top right menu. - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

- If you install Joomlaxplorer (or whatever it's called, exTplorer or something these days), you can modify any of the site files on-the-fly, in color-coded glory.
