Which themes work with Community Builder?

  • Which themes work with Community Builder?

    • Sorry if this is a noob question. The only theme I saw that seemed to explicitly support Community Builder was Tachyon.

      Is that the only one?

    • Hi, Tachyon offers additional styling for Community Builder, that is the only recent release from us that offers anything related to community builder.

Keep in mind, styling is different than support. None of our themes specifically support Community Builder or add anything to do it - nor do they prevent it's use in any way. You could use Community Builder with any of our themes. Although we cannot provide any support or assistance or guarantee any part of it's operation, as is the case with all third party components, it should function just fine in most cases.

Styling means that we have added CSS to help the CB component match the look of our theme. If the styling is not included, everything using CB on the front end will display using the default styling included with CB. You are free to change this if you like, but unless our theme offers the styling, we're not able to assist with this process. Styling does not affect how it operates, it just changes the way it looks. Hope that makes sense.

    • Sort of. I guess what I am reading though is that you make no effort to make sure your templates work on CB. They might, but that's up to me to figure out, and if not that also up to me.

And I am guess that applies to Tachyon as well?

      Basically it?

    • I guess that's one way to put it. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, it's pretty much up to you to try it and decide for yourself.

We can only offer support for products we make, as they are the only products we have control over and they are the only products our support staff are trained to provide support with. I think it's safe to say the CB developers aren't going to provide you with much support on how to use our products, and we certainly don't expect them to do so.

Any support question related to our products can be answered here - such as "How do I turn on the third party styling" - or something directly related to the operation of our themes. Questions we cannot help you with would be how to perform actions in CB, how to set up user fields, installation issues or errors ECT. That is not our department, that falls on CB support. This is the case with all third party developers products.

While we certainly try to help as much as we can, the scope of support here includes our products only.

    • As an example, I just installed current CB onto clean current Joomla, and installed Tachyon. THe login button doesn't do anything.

    • Hi, sorry for any delay getting back to you, I've been having email notification issues.

Maybe you already figured it out, but CB uses it's own login module, not the core Joomla module. If you're having trouble operating that module, you'll need to check CB documentation or support.

The button operation is controlled by CB, the way it looks is the styling provided by the theme. If the button doesn't work, that's not caused by the theme. If it doesn't look right, we can help you with that.
