Very slow site - Ionosphere

Hi All...
I have built a site for the school that I work for using the Ionosphere template. It is a large site, and I am using gcalendar to display all of our school and sports calendars. My problem is that the site is very slow! If I restart apache, it runs lightning fast, but within a few hours it has slowed to a crawl, and I get out of memory errors in the logs. I am new to joomla, this is my first site. I have watched the TOP display, and when I restart apache, the memory used is very low. As I load pages, it crawls up and up and up, never releasing any memory until it finally hits the max memory and the site becomes unusable.
I am running on a 6sync server with 512M ram. Is my problem just that this is not enough? Or, are there ways to release memory as pages are viewed to keep the memory from climbing? Are the gcalendars the problem? If so, is there a better way to display mutiple google calendars?
I have gone through all of my photos and optimized them for the web. I can't seem to turn on caching because gcalendar does not work well with it on (it displays mutliple instances of the calendars).
If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it greatly. Here is a link to my site:

- I have renewed my membership...is anyone able to help me with this? I see now that there are template-specific forums, but I don't know how to move my post. I'm not sure it is a template-specific question, but more of a "why is my site so slow" question. I pretty much used the ionosphere template as is, although I duplicated a lot of the modules. And, I added gcalendar with multiple google calendars. I have disabled all of my modules using rokgallery, which seems to have helped quite a bit.
