Hello all,
I have been a STRONG supporter of GoDaddy for MANY years. I have talked MANY customers in using GoDaddy because of the easy installation of some of the most popular CMS's and other items... BUT with "ease of use" also comes drawbacks... and recently I came face to face with these issues.
After renewing my RocketTheme subscription and installing some of the newer templates, plugins, and components... It became clear real fast that Godaddy is just not about the customer at all. The do not keep up with the latest PHP versions. and I think most random "errors" that RocketTheme users are getting can be solved from just changing from GoDaddy. I know it seems like a "daunting task", but in the long run, it will save you much grief and headaches.
I finally had the guts to switch from GODaddy to Host Gator, and although I have only been a customer for less than 24 hours, I can already tell that I have someone else to refer to my customers.
Not a single error on the backend, and I can't believe how fast the servers are.
But it's not like I just came across Host Gator by accident, some of the great members and Gurus from RocketTheme have been suggesting Host Gator for a while.. and for this I say THANK YOU!!!!
I have never been a fan of GoDaddy, they were never, ever supportive of the customer whatsoever and it's just getting worse. We're on week 2+ now waiting to get a domain transferred over to us. Am sure you can guess what I would like to write here with lots of ampersands and asterisks.
HostGator on the other hand is superb. Great support, quick fixes if there are problems, very few problems or issues overall, cheap prices and always helpful. I'd recommend them any day of the week.
