SOLVED momentum problem, possibly other templates too
Posted 12 years 10 months ago
using momentum template on Joomla 1.7 - have a problem with column format. Set up content as 2 columns to left, plus sidebar c on right with standing info etc. Pages work fine initially, correctly displaying articles in two columns - until one gets to 8 or more articles - then suddenly page displays as one column with sidebar appearing at the end of the articles (content) in the left column! Other pages on the site not affected and continue to work okay. Any ideas please.

Can you take a screenshot and annotate what you are talking about?
I think I've gotcha... if so, did you check your maximum articles to show? Remember that setup can be done in the menu and in the articles, so check for overrides.

Hi Nanci
rather than send you a screen shot, the link to problem page is
rcpyc.org.uk/index.php/on-the-water/cruising-reports
- then compare that to the next page.
I must have reset something - problem page now changes from 2 to 3 - 4 columns after 4 articles, but sidebar c still displayed at the end - as though there is not enough room for it on the right. Got to be something stupidly simple that I've messed up!

Hi Nanci
Since posting my previous reply, problem page now displaying single column again after intro articles, and lost my page count at end? So I'm a bit mystified as to why display keeps changing?

. . . . and now I've lost all content after first two intro articles - just a blank page. All settings are global, nothing specific to the menu (which is a category blog) or the articles. This page just seems to have a mind of it's own? Tried different browsers too!

hi ali,
you must have a missing div tag in one of your articles. unpublish all of them, then publish one, then two, etc. keep publishing one at a time. as soon as the layout breaks you know which article it is and you can open it in your editor (using rokpad or noeditor, so you can actually see all the tags) then add the missing div tag.

Kat - you're a star.
Found two articles where the editors had simply pasted from 'word' - took the formatting out and all is now working as intended. Many thanks for you help.
