I'm curious to know if it would be beneficial for my community site to have a registration flash page like Facebook for first-time/guest users.
The idea is to have a blurb of what it's about and a registration link. I'm not worried about the number of registrants... I already have a good idea of what that will be...
I'm just curious to know how this will affect SEO, search engine results, etc.
Any input is appreciated - thank you

Hi, if your website is only a splash page that requires people to sign up before they can access the rest of it, that means your website will be mostly password protected, and therefore unable to be searched by Google or other search engines. So basically, only that page and the contents of it will be indexed. That could definitely have a negative effect on SEO, since you only have one page with little content on it.
The amount of unique content you have on your site, that is searchable and can be indexed by search engines, is the most important SEO factor. Everything else is a distant second to that. - The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.
