    Administrator security

    • Hi.

I wonder... if you set a .htaccess file to the administrator folder and use a password here... will this affect any of the functions on the site?

    • The .htaccess file would supersede any Joomla security. Joomla would be accessing the site with different rights than a public web viewer. What are you trying to accomplish?

I do this on all my sites as a standard safety precaution. It works smoothly and doesn't affect any frontend functionality.

      Kind regards,

    • Thanks...

I tested it out, and like Zorro says, it does not affect the frontend.
This is a good way to add security to the site.
