Fireboard or smf

- Im trying to decide what route to take and would love your guys great advice. Which one of these I should install if you could give me advantages and disadvantages of both or if there both good. Thanks in advance

Fireboard is still in development ( which is why they call it beta ) while SMF is a far more matured board, security and other "needed" features exist in SMF......
so to me at this point in history it comes down to the site owner,,,,, if you have a small membership and you could get away with hicups in fireboard as it goes through its development cycle,, then use it...
if on the other hand you have a larger membership and stability, security and backup and restore is more critical then go with SMF.

- At this point in time, I'd recommend SMF... Much more feature-rich and the support is very good on the SMF forums.

- I would use SMF. Its much better than Firboard. (Im my opinion)

I am holding out for the J1.5 PhpBB3 combo.
There are rumors it is coming, and frankly that combo will leap frog past both SMF and Fireboard if it happens.

at the present moment
i would say SMF
ive recently just ported mine over to fireboard, and its certainly buggy
smf is far more stable

- I did try to install smf once and had issues installing it. I just installed fireboard and im quite pleased with it and how easy it is to edit the only problem is the parent and child hierarchy that makes it a little different and hard to edit. Does SMF make use of this hierarchy as well is it better to edit. also is there any verbiage on 1.5 and phpbb3 that I can read up on.
