    Scrolling Images in Halcyon

Posted 12 years 9 months ago
    • Hi...

I'm trying to figure out what size the images get converted to using the scroller in Halycon. It's the home page images that scroll the full width of the window. Seems I can throw any size in there and it gets converted to the size it needs, this distorts the images...

This is the Joomla 1.5xx version

    • The demo uses 788 x 200 but sharing a link to your site so I can make sure you are using the same size would be best.

I've sent a few email through your website of late asking about upgrading a clients site to 2.5 using halcyon. What is it I need to do to make that happen? We are using your mods/app for scrolling and others as well.

    • There are several extensions designed to help you migrate the website from earlier versions of Joomla!. You can find a list of them here: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...ion/joomla-migration

It is not a simple process, seening that you will need to evaluate each extensions ability to migrate one by one.

    • Ben...

I have no problem migrating sites, and have done many for clients in recent months.

As you know you cannot use 1.5 templates with a 2.5 install so your template needs to be updated to 2.5 and my question is do you provide an upgrade path for me or do I need to purchase the template over again?

    • I'm migrating a client site from 1.5 to 2.5. The piece that I am missing is the template 2.5 version.
So do I need to subscribe to the template updates? Or another level of membership?

Also, are there instructions available on a applying the new version of the template?

      thanks,
      Sue

    • Suec,

You'll need to renew to receive any updates released after your previous membership expired. This applies to any level. Migrating from 1.5 to 2.5 can be a difficult process depending on the amount and variety of content on the site. There are components that can help you with the process listed in the extension database: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...ion/joomla-migration

Rocket Theme will provide the updated template but many modifications will be necessary to make the site completely work. This is due to the many changes in 2.5.
