SOLVED Should we upgrade or update?

We have a very 'busy' website
www.heyportugal.com
which is based on the Solar Sentinal template. Over the years and different web designers we have ended up with lots of extensions and it has become unmanageable . We have also had it hacked recently so now is the time to make a decision.
We have been considering switching to Sentinal 2.5 for some time but it is very different and will need a lot of work to transfer.
Due to the current hacking we want to change quick and wonder if there is any benefit to changing to Solar Sentinal 2.5.
I have read that some of the module extensions will no longer be supported due RokSproket being launched. "NOTE: RokNewsPager (Lists), RokStories (Features), RokTabs (Tabs) and RokNewsFlash (Headlines) are no longer supported. All are being replaced by RokSprocket."
I am far from an expert with Joomla, more like a competant user and would appreciate comments from the more knowledgeable of you out there.

we know about the malware and have taken the site off line again....
the main thing we need is an extension that will allow us to display adverts (pictures) which are linkable to a URL or page and if possible random too. Do any of the Rok moduels do this?

One of the core components in Joomla is the Banners component.
Though it may not have all the features you need, it is certainly worth a look. For more advanced extensions for Ads we suggest www.joomla.org/extensions .
