Frontend image upload protection

  • Frontend image upload protection

    • Hi, I have a request from a client to build a joomla 2.5 site using one of Rocketthemes latest templates. My client wants to allow registered users to upload images into his site. My concern is allowing registered users unknowingly (or otherwise) uploading images with illegal scripts or hacks hidden within the images. Can anyone suggest a component or mod that would have the ability to scan and prevent uploading of such
illegal scripts or hacks. I have no problem in paying for any such components or mods, I just need some guidance in what is the best way to prevent such actions either in the site or in my server.
      Cheers
      Neil B

    • Interesting question Neil. I'm not familiar with script injections in to images but since it didn't seem like no one else was responding to your thread I thought I might be able to help somehow. I've heard of hiding messages in the compressed images, but it takes the same (or similar) program to extract again. Any examples of the type of threat you are trying to prevent?
