What will happen with old templates?

Hello Guys
Almost two years ago, i bought the template for one of mine customers here at RocketTheme. It was Dominion template. From then, site developed into somewhat busy community with large amount of interactions every day. Users got used to the visual appeal of the site.
Now customer wants to update the site and have all the nifty stuff that modern technology can offer and to be frank, ill try hardly to postpone this decision till at least Joomla 3.5 becomes available.
Mine concern is, will you even consider updating old templates such as Dominion to 3.0 or future versions of Joomla, as liable web designer as me can't afford the luxury to change the site identity in front of the face of probably more then 1000 active users daily.
Im asking this just to be sure will i have to plan my time better in a future and develop at least closely looking Dominion on the Gantry that will potentially be available in that time.

Our primary goal is to convert our "Gantry" templates to support Joomla 3.X. This means all teh templates back to December of 2009. After those are converted, we will then probably only convert those that are highly requested.
The issue is not only the templates, but any associated extensions that went along with the templates. We were creating more adhoc, template-specific extensions back before this date, so it means more work to convert them.
