Changing to Joomla Menu in phpBB3

    • I'm staring at the global configuration of my forum for halfemptyetank.com and I want to add my Joomla menu to the top in place of the forum menu. I don't even know where to look as far as the pathway or the file name. On top of that I'm reading in other topics on this forum, there are permission issues that could come up as well?

I'm a complete newbie to both Joomla and phpBB3. I don't normally have problems with directories. But I'm not exactly sure what file I'm looking for here.

I'm using Fracture for both Joomla and phpBB3. I'm also using RokBridge.

      Yep, I'm currently using RokBridge 2.5.7 RC1

That's working just fine. It's not an issue of tech, it's more of an issue that I don't know what to do. My forums ( www.halfemptyetank.com/forum/ ) don't have the same navigational menu as the rest of my website ( www.halfemptyetank.com ). The option is available in the backend of phpBB3.

      Styles>Global Configuration>Show Joomla Menu

Which I've selected yes and it's gotten rid of the forum navigational menu. Which is what I wanted but it hasn't replaced it with the Joomla menu because I don't know what to fill in for these slots: Joomla menu path, guest menu filename, registered menu filename, headers filename. I know these are asking for the files and directory pathways to the menu system for my Joomla site but I don't know what those are or where they regularly are for the fracture theme.

Once I know what they are, I'm sure it'll work. I'm just not sure what I'm looking for in my directory.

      Thanks! :cheesy:

Basically I need to fill in these options. It should be pretty obvious but apparently I'm oblivious. There are many files that lead to a menu option.

    • The problem is that you have the config for the menu file set up wrong. I am sure that we made a tutorial for it. Did you first check if the menu files are correctly generated in the root of the site?

    • Thanks. That just about all my problems. Just need to figure out how to align the menu to the right now. If you can point me in the right direction there. I'll be done. Basically it's left aligned on my forum but it's right aligned on the actual joomla site.

    • Using firefox, obtain the classes used in joomla for the menu positioning with the grids. Use the same grids on your phpbb3 side of things.
That essentially is what you have to do.
