RokCommon causing PHP error and site crash

Posted 11 years 11 months ago
    • I have a site running Joomla 2.5.8 and PHP 5.3.3-7+squeeze14. The server is Debian Squeeze on a VPS. I keep getting a PHP error that crashes the site, resulting in blank white pages. Here's what's in the PHP error log:

[30-Nov-2012] PHP Fatal error: Cannot call overloaded function for non-object in /path-to-site/public_html/libraries/rokcommon/include.php on line 25
[30-Nov-2012] PHP Fatal error: Class 'JFactory' not found in /path-to-site/public_html/libraries/joomla/session/storage/database.php on line 71

      That repeats over and over.

      RokSprocket is 1.8.2
      RokGallery is 2.14
      RokCommon is 3.1.3
      RokTwittie is 1.7
      RokNavMenu is 1.13

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I really appreciate the reply. All updates shown in the automatic updating area of the Joomla backend are done. Do any of them not automatically update? Regardless I'll go through now and check the most recent version of each.

    • I updated everything to the latest version. I'll update here if the problem returns.

    • I can now confirm that with every rockettheme extension updated, the problem exists. I am still getting the PHP Fatal error. Exact same errors as above. Any input?

    • Can you try to update manually all extensions because not all our extension updates show up in update manager? RokGallery and RokNavMenu doesn't show for sure 8)

I did. I went through and updated every Rok-based extension installed. The problem still exists, same error message. Any ideas?

    • How did you set up sessions in joomla global configuration?

    • I just left the default settings. Session lifetime of 60, database as the handler.

    • I don't know if this could be related or not, but I have Joomla 2.5.8 and the Joomla updater wants it to 'update' to 2.5.7. I've noticed on several sites that the updater doesn't quite work right though.
