Header Image Rotator + Cache Question

  • Header Image Rotator + Cache Question

Posted 17 years 7 months ago
    • Hi, I am using this method to make the logo image random:

      sonspring.com/journal/easy-random-css-backgrounds

It works great except for one thing - the image doesn't change unless you do a hard refresh of the page (therefore reloading the css file). Is there a way around this either in the php or css?

I am not a coder so sorry if these seems ignorant.

      Kind regards,

    • Use RokSlideshow

Ignoring all the problem I and many others are having with Rokslide - that seems excessive as that would require using another script on the page and making a new module position. I also have plans to use the slideshow once I can get it going (or finding a flash based slideshow).

Like I said, the method (a very simple one at that) works fine except for the caching.

I am curious if there is a way to not cache the image in either the php or css. I am not a coder so can't answer this question.

      Kind regards,
      Mame du Bois

    • Sorry, I misread your post. Why not use the random image module that comes with Joomla.

    • Hi, that is one option but that will still leave me with creating the module position. I am not sure I will be able to do this on J1.5. I have done it before on J1.0 templates. I might just wait and see on this.

      Thanks. Mame du Bois
