    Discontinued RokBridge?

Posted 12 years 3 months ago
    • I have noticed that it seems like RocketTheme has discontinued their development of RokBridge. I see that there is still one member (Roland) who seems to be developing it on his own. Yet RocketTheme continues to develop matching phpBB3 styles to go with their Joomla templates...

It seems a bit odd, because if someone wants to use both Joomla and phpBB3 they want them to look the same, which RocketTheme covers, but they also want to have the two systems work together with each other which RocketTheme seems to no longer support "officially". I'm just wondering why they decided to take this route.

    • I'd like to know too, especially as, in several documents (for example the Afterburner FAQ), Rocketthemes explains that their phphBB3 styles can't be used in the Joomla Wrapper and must use Rokbridge instead.

If it's not maintained anymore*, can we get information about integration of forums using RT's phpBB styles in Joomla?

      Thanks :)

*Edit: There is a 150 posts thread here about a RC version
      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=19..._v=viewtopic#p874212
and it's now an unofficial development

    • This issue is also extremely pertinent for me as I wish to setup a Joomla main site using phpbb3 as forums for that site. I really want to integrate the 2 seamlessly and after some research into achieving that, I seem to hit some stumbling blocks. As I have already purchased the templates from Rocket I had assumed that the 2 would work together but it appears not. Have I wasted my money??
Is there a way to integrate the 2 without too much aggravation?

Once again, could we please have an official position on this from Rockettehmes: how to integrate easily RT's PHPBB templates in Joomla as RT explains the templates can't work with Joomla wrapper and Rocketbridge seems discontinued by RT. (One brave person trying to keep something up is unfortunately not the same thing.)

Or is RT dropping their interest in PHPBB?

      Thanks :)

    • Thanks Henning :)

Good to know. Really it was easy to miss the most welcome come-back of Rokbridge

Although a last post has been made in
      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=19..._v=viewtopic#p874212
the first line of the thread is still "This component is not an official RT development"

I would kindly suggest to add a mention there, so there is no confusion in the future.

      Thanks again. :)
