I have an older version of Joomla! and crystalline template
located here
.
I just updated everything and started the same site from scratch. But what I have noticed as I cannot get the side menu to collapse like the one on the old one does.

Old version:
" Always show submenu items " - Yes is checked
New Version:
" Show Sub-menu Items " - Yes is checked

Yes. Now compare parameters that are common in those two and you will find what is wrong with J2.5 version

No. Short answer is that "Start level", "End level" and "Show submenus" should be configured the same
