    Trouble with the Gantry

    • Hi,

      I updated the Gantry on March 13. Now the style is not working. I went to Extensions/Template Manager, selected Style, clicked rt_reflex_j16 - Default. The Gantry is not there. I've attached the screenshot.

      The website uses Joomla 1.7: swisscheesechildcare.com/ . Maybe the new Gantry doesn't work with the old version of Joomla1.7.

      Does anybody know how to fix it?

    • Sorry, but are you kidding? You are still using Joomla 1.7?!? :shock:

      1.7 has severe security problems, please update to Joomla 2.5.14 as soon as possible!

      However it might be that you need an update for your template as well - make a backup first!

      Don't be sorry, I started this a couple of years ago and walked away from it.
      I am very happy to get a reply.

      So, being new and old:
      1- how do I backup?
      2- how do I update?

      I will search the forums for how to do this. Thanks for the tips!

      I probably need to pay for the upgrade, right? My membership is not current.

    • Your template might still work without any problems with Joomla 2.5.x, just try.

      For backups: the best and easiest way is to use Akeeba Backup - there is no need for the commercial version, try the free version.
      There are a lot of "official" and other videos on Youtube showing you every step.
      It's very simple to use and saves you a hell of time!

      I don't know if there's an update from 1.7 to 2.5.14 or if you need to update to 2.5.1 first and then to 2.5.14.

    • I did the Akeeba backup last night, and it was successful.
      Akeeba also needs updating but it won't until I update Joomla, so I hope the backup works. I can see the backup is there in the log.

      I clicked on "find updates", after "purching the cache", and "there are no updates available" for Joomla. Now I'm stuck.

    • Cleaned your cache? Updating from 1.7.5 to 2.5x can also be done manually if the web update via the Joomla backend doesn't function.
