Upgrade to Joomla 2.5.10 not possible?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't seem to be able to upgrade to joomla 2.5.10 using either FTP or Direct file write.
I get the error:ERROR:
The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing
I tried downloading the package:and adding it to /tmp folder just to avoid download but still the same error.http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/18321/80361/Joomla_2.5.x_to_2.5.11-Stable-Patch_Package.zip
I am feeling I'm missing something. Like some perimissions that are not right... or something... could you help please?
I've heard something about php.ini setting maximum file size for upload to 2mb somewhere but don't know where that php.ini file is at.

Hi,
Have you tried to extract the archive locally (on your computer) ?
Another solution would be to install 'admintools' : www.akeebabackup.com/products/admin-tools.html
It searches for Joomla! updates and can update it for you...
