rhuk_solarflare_ii - Template Guru's - Anyone???

Hope this is the right forum.
I know it is an older and free template but I like it but need to modify it just a bit if I can. If not I have to find something totally new.
I have the site set up for 1024 and want to utilize 97 to 98% of the available screen space. Everything I have tried to expand the template size has failed. May look great at first but if the browser is opened in a reduced size or a larger or smaller screen resolution size is being used then everything is off.
Newbie wouldn't be the word for me as I am not even conceived yet
My site is at www.getbentflorida.com anyone who can help me out I will gladly accept it. The left column width is fine as is the right column although the right column is ONLY USED on the first/front page of the site. The main area is what I want extended.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN - Might be willing to pay if you can do the task correctly and in a timely fashion but I do not have much cash so how about $50.00 US - Is that fair?
Please help as I have pulled out most of my hair already
