    • (See #2 in attachment) I understand that whatever this icon is will be the standard for this area. That is fine. What I want to do is change it from the icon font to my own PNG icon. I would like the red background container to be removed as well so it is just the image in that place. Lastly, I would like my PNG icon to scale responsively just as icon font does now. And disappear as it does now on smaller device/mobile.

    • well the icon responds because it is a font a background image icon will not respond per se. You can do this a couple of way.
      1) create a few different size icons (for each one that you want) and set them to hide or show based on screen display size
      2) set the image as an <img src="pathtoimage" /> float it left and call it done. the image will respond
