    Menu module not working

Posted 11 years 5 months ago
    • I have created a menu module from the MAIN MENU and restricted to to a specific area. However, when I click on a link from the module, it tells me the page is not there. When I click on the same link in the MAIN MENU it woks just fine. I noticed the link from the MAIN MENU is this:
      http://localhost/~houston/Sunshine/index.php/sunshine-image-gallery/sunroom-picture-window
and the link from the Module Menu for the same page is this:
      http://localhost/~houston/Sunshine/index.php/sunshine-image-gallery/sunroom-picture-window/sunshine-image-gallery

      Why are they different?

      Many thanks,
      Houston

    • Dan, if you noticed, the links are both localserver. I was hoping someone could actually look at the difference between the links and tell me why the module menu adds the "sunshine-image-gallery" to the end of every link. This is what is causing the link not to work. I was hoping to avoid having to put it up on a live server but I can if I need to.

    • Odd - I know we do that all the time with our demos have a menu module in a sidebar. Have you tried Joomla's Redirect to have the 2nd link go to the 1st link?

I'd rather find the root cause but for now deal with the symptom. In your Admin -> Component you should see a Redirect item. If the plugin is enabled you can force any URL to go to any other URL.

    • Admin > Component? Are you referring to the Menu Competent itself? I do not see this path in the backend admin.

      Many thanks,
