Using K2 with RocketTheme

I see that RocketTheme touts its integration with K2. I am not very familiar with this but I would be interested to know if its worth me importing my current articles unto K2 and get better acquainted with the system.

K2 uses it's own complete article management system, so anything done in K2 does not carry over to core Joomla. I personally don't like to be tied or reliant on too many items so I stay with the way Joomla does stuff and stay away from K2.
It's popular for sure, but moving forward, you'll need to have K2 for your site to run.
RocketTheme templates have styling adjustments for K2, but it's not an integration. Think of it as styling highlights to help K2 look more integrated to the template design.
That said, a lot of people do like it, so if you feel you need the functionality, it is a popular CCK to go with.

- One thing I would like to mention here is how easy it is to create overrides and alternative layouts for K2. Piece of cake compared to core joomla. It also provides "automatic" image resizing options and good front end submission with extra fields. I must say I had some fun creating sites with K2. It has some rough edges on the html + css side of things.

Does your response imply that it is OK to use K2 with the newer responsive themes?
Just wanted to confirm before I spend time on a solution that will not work.

Since Joomla has improved I dont use K2 at the moment.
Also K2 will get a major update soon so I don't suggest to start with "old" K2 now.
Wait till the new one comes out and see what it offers and if it's worth installing. -
